Bonjour à tous! Just like the weather here, my first few days have been a whirlwind of emotions - from the initial stress of a closed metro station to the pure joy of exploring the city on foot. Yes, you read that right, a closed metro station! Talk about a baptism by fire for this public transportation newbie. Thankfully, a cozy cashmere scarf (lifesaver!) and a bit of walking got me where I needed to be, even if it did take a tad longer than expected. 10,000 Steps in Saint Lazare Speaking of getting lost, let's just say I'm getting a crash course in Parisian navigation. There's something both terrifying and exhilarating about being in a new city, especially one as charming as Paris. This morning, after a delicious (and surprisingly taco-like) baguette sandwich for lunch, I decided to take a long walk. My destination? Wherever my feet took me! I ended up wandering around the Saint Lazare train station area, soaking up the atmosphere and capturing some clips for Instagram (although, let's just say they might need a re-shoot). Regardless, it was a fantastic way to explore the city and hit my 10,000 step goal for the day. Le Groupe pour Moi, Le Groupe pour Toi
One thing I'm definitely learning is that my Parisian professors love giving us group activities. While part of me craves some introvert time in language class, I have to admit it's nice not having to find my own group. Plus, the group work forces me to speak French, which is the whole point, right? Sleep mask or sleep not? Speaking of challenges, figuring out how to sleep comfortably with an open window has become a nightly quest. The city never seems to settle down completely, and that cool Parisian breeze has a mind of its own. Maybe a sleep mask is in order? Priorities, people, priorities! I'm still keeping the sleep mask from my biz class flight with Air France. It works like a charm! C'est la vie! Despite the minor mishaps and adjustments, these first few days in Paris have been incredible. The city is as beautiful and vibrant as I always imagined, and I can't wait to see what adventures await me next. Stay tuned for more updates on my Parisian escapades! In the meantime, if you have any tips for navigating the metro, conquering sleep with open windows, or finding the best baguette sandwiches, feel free to leave a comment below!
