This Parisian adventure is a whirlwind of cultural adaptation and personal discovery. Today's focus? Mastering the art of layering and confronting the limitations of my (mostly American) wardrobe. The Parisian Trenchcoat: Function Over Fashion? While Parisian blogs champion the trenchcoat, my experience suggests a more practical approach. The weather demands versatility – a raincoat with a removable lining and hood seems ideal. However, a long-lasting solution might involve a Burberry trench. Its design offers superior functionality, with a protective collar and hood – features missing from my current Suzanne trench. Missing My American Staples
Homesickness manifests in unexpected ways. Today, it's the yearning for comfortable leisurewear, a stark contrast to the Parisian penchant for tailored trousers and button-down shirts. Sneaker Chic: A Parisian Trend I Can Embrace Despite the lack of comfy clothes, Parisian footwear offers solace. The city's focus on walking makes sneakers a practical and stylish choice. While my combat boots might make an appearance later, today it's sneakers for the win. I've been between my two sneakers, my Aark from Denmark and Golden Goose from Italy. I put in arch supports to support my flat feet walking through the city. Everyday I'm logging about 10K steps, but these are harder steps for sure - up the hills, up the stairs, down the stairs, dodging tourists, and running in the rain. Learning to Live with Less My tiny apartment presents both challenges and opportunities. Storage is limited, forcing me to be more mindful of my wardrobe. While initially frustrating, it might lead to a more curated and intentional wardrobe. A Parisian Diary in Progress This journey is far from over. There are more experiences to document, videos to edit, and lessons to learn. Stay tuned for the next chapter of my Parisian adventure!
