Choses du luxe

I am excited to start my section on Choses du Luxe! Here, I'll post my latest luxury finds and introduce you to brands you may want to learn about. In this photo (2024 juillet, Paris), I wore a Loewe dress with Ferragamo ballet flats. Also, instead of wearing my usual sporty band on my Apple Watch, I swapped it out for the gold band for a more chic look. I'm unsure when, but I will purchase a Longines luxury watch. The Longines brand was my mother's favorite, and my friend Niffer gave me the beautiful idea of buying one here in Paris to celebrate my mom's love for timeless elegance and style.
J'adore these ballet flats! At first, the 100% off-white color was on my heart, but it was all sold out at Printemps when I looked for them. However, I love a black-and-white moment (also, I love denim and I love leather), so these were perfect. I love Ferragamo's understated logos. Aside from my classic Fendi baguette bag, I tend not to like big, bold logos. These shoes display the name Ferragamo on the gold hardware but are somewhat understated. Also, the gold button on the dress features the Loewe emblem. However, it's also quite understated.

I was searching for cotton items to keep up with the heat in Paris. I had been wanting to check out MaxMara for awhile now because they're one of the luxury designers who makes quite a few pieces in 100% cotton which is so nice and cool when dealing with the heat. Of course, I didn't know how hot it was going to be that day, so I paired it with my black satin skirt from Alice & Olivia. I love a black and white moment! I will say that forever and ever! Even though navy looks so great on my skin tone, some may say it's better, I'm still #teamblackandwhite when it comes to fashion. I love the simplicity and the ease of the pairing. My love for black started in New York when I started working my corporate job. Yes, in the summers, New Yorkers tend to wear a lot of color, but winter is definitely for black. Sometimes, the summer is for black too. Paris is similar and you will see many outfits in all black or black with white. It's simple, classy, and elegant.

I bought this dress on my first visit to a Rails clothing store. It wasn't something I'd pick out from the website; when I saw it in the store, and after some encouragement from a friend, I tried it on and loved it! I also tried on the brown dress with fringe (below) but decided it was ok. However, it was ok enough that I picked it up a week or two later. I love these dresses with my Prada Re-Edition 2005 Saffiano leather bag and padded nappa leather sandals in Sand Beige. The sandals are very comfortable and have some arch support, which is terrific for walking all over the city. Also, the color would not go well with my skin tone, but I love it and have bought a few more things in shades of beige.

This is the second dress from Rails with the Prada combination. I don't accessorize in general because I do not have a lot of jewelry. It's something that I would love to invest in. For tonight's look, I am accessorizing with gold jewelry to match the hardware on my handbag. I love this handbag because it can be sporty if you keep the fabric crossbody strap, but it can be dressy when the strap is removed. It's definitely one of my favorite and most used bags in Paris. This picture was taken at the Sorbonne after watching the incredible men's basketball final contre les États-Unis et la France. Literally, two minutes before I left for dinner, I thought I should change the dress because I worried about its breathability. However, it was quite breathable and comfortable on a warm night.

These Saint Laurent items weren't a luxury purchase for me last week at the end of August 2024. I loved this jacket, but I decided to choose another. Wow, how the Saint Laurent ready-to-wear pieces really elevate your look! I came into the store searching for nothing in particular. I ended up conversing with a SA (Sales Associate) and my cousin about leather jackets and denim. You know that I love my leather in denim. It's funny because I was also wearing a Lululemon sweatshirt and skirt set; the skirt is seen here under the jacket. The shoes were gorgeous and featured hammered gold at the toe, which was so unique and stylish. However, at this time, I wondered where I would wear these shoes? Also, can we talk about this lighting? I understand the person who designed the lighting for the store also designs for art galleries - which is so fitting because everything in the store is a work of art that should be displayed in the best light possible. The lighting also makes for a delightful customer experience to see yourself in your best light.

This picture was taken during a private screening of Emilia Perez at the Cinéma du Panthéon in Paris. I chose to wear my Rag & Bone sweater dress—a versatile black staple with a soft texture that effortlessly transitions between casual chic and refined sophistication. To elevate the look, I added my latest Saint Laurent accessories: the LA 66 buckle belt in crocodile-embossed leather, adding a touch of bold luxury, and my 2023 purchase, the Loulou Medium chain bag in quilted Y leather in Dark Cherry—a statement piece that always turns heads. Deciding what to wear on my feet is always a puzzle in Paris, where walking is a must, and comfort often meets fashion at a crossroads. Tonight, I opted for my black combat boots by Kendall Miles—a perfect blend of style and functionality that’s ideal for navigating the city’s cobblestone streets while still looking polished.
